About the Event

WHAT IS A SACRED SPACE

The many weeks of lockdown showed us how the physical presence of other members of our spiritual community is integral part of our experience and practice. Not being in a communal space containing symbols and sacred objects representing elements of our spiritual tradition, reminded us that sacred spaces have power and play an essential function in our life.

While never a substitute for a Church, Zendo, or Mosque, creating a sacred space in our home not only creates a visual reminder calling us to reflection or prayer but also provides a place of peace, calm, and renewal that we can take refuge in at any point in our day.

IMPORTANT: Due to Covid-19 safety guidelines, we will only permit a total of four (4) participants per session.

WHAT TYPE OF ACTIVITIES WILL I ENCOUNTER?

Incorporating some of the principles of the practice of Forest Bathing in this workshop we’ll learn how to bring nature inside and how to let our intuition guide us in creating a sacred space in our own homes.

We will visit an example of a place that has recently been transformed from an unused utility room into a sacred space and explore and share ideas of how we can create that for ourselves.

During our time together we will talk about:

How to bring the forest into your home

What is your bliss

Defining your vision

Trusting yourself

How to have a Forest Bath without leaving your home

How plants in your home help reduce the likelihood of you and your family contracting illness

The healing power of essential oils

Phytoncides or how trees can boost your immune system
